My Husband and I worked in local goverment for 25 years before deciding to move to Ireland. Can we claim some of the tax and insurance we paid during those years.

If you leave the UK you can claim a tax refund.
When you finished working you should have been given a P45, do you still have this?
If you do, you can claim your tax refund by applying with us here:
If you do not have your P45 from your employer from the UK, you can write to them and request a ‘statement of earnings’ on company headed paper which can be used as a replacement for a P45.
