I worked a lot of overtime in March which has just been paid in my April pay (month 1 of tax year 2010/2011) I have paid a lot more tax than normal and it looks like I have been taxed as if I will earn the amount I have earned this month over the coming year - this is not the case and month 1 is a one off - I was expecting takehome pay about £100 higher than I got - will I get this back or have I lost it? Thanks

TaxFix
This often happens and can be one of the reasons why people are due tax refunds.
You haven’t lost anything yet.
You will need to wait until the end of the tax year when you get your P60, then you can check to see if you have overpaid tax using our tax rebate calculator:

If you have overpaid you can make a claim to get that tax back.
