If you were off work for most of the tax year then there is a good chance that you will be able to claim a tax refund as it is unlikely that you would have recived your full tax allowance.

Were you still working for the company even though you were off work? If so you should have recently recieved a P60.

You can check to see how much your tax refund would be by inputting the pay and tax details from your P60 in a tax calculator:

If I claimed Job seekers allowance will it effect a tax rebate for the same year?

I was made redundant September 09. Claimed job seekers allowance until March 2010 when I got another job. I have no proof of earnings except my last wage slip, because the company i worked for closed down.

Who do I need to see about claiming any tax rebate if any is owed to me? Appreciate any advice.

Add any job seekers allowance to your total income from your P45 and then input your tax from your P45 into our tax refund calculator to see how much you would be due:

Anonymous 2: If your company has gone out of business and do not have a P60 or P45 then you could contact your local tax office. They might have a record of you working for that company and if they do, they may know the amount of tax and income you earned. If they have this information you may be able to claim a tax rebate.
