TaxFix

All students who earn below the tax free allowance, which this year stands at £6,475 can claim back all of the tax they have paid when working.

When you finish you job you should be given a P45. When you have this you can apply for your refund by going to:

Hi Anonymous,

The amount of your tax refund will depend on how much you have earned during the year. If you take the amount that you have earned with the tax you have paid of £2,900 and input it into a tax refund calculator, you can see how much you can claim back:

As long as you have stopped working and will not work again in the tax year you can apply for your tax refund when you have your P45.

Ana: Do you mean a tax rebate? Yes, if you are leaving the UK you can claim for one. When you stop working you should be given a P45. When you have this you can make your claim here.

mel: Yes a NI rebate is differnet from a income tax rebate.

You can only apply for NI rebates (in the form of a pension transfer) for future years while you are living and working in the UK. It sounds like you might be too late to apply for this.

You can still apply for an income tax rebate, as this is eligible for previous years. When you finish working you should be given a P45, when you have this you can make a claim here.

Priya: The tax free allowance is currently £6,475 per year. If you earn less than this per tax year you will be able to claim all your tax back.

You can make a claim by applying here:
