I am an overseas contractor working for a UK company in Afghanistan, I visit the UK for around 14 days a year. I have no fixed abode in the UK and stay with my Parents during my visits. Am I entitled to a full UK Income tax refund?

If you leave the country to work abroad full-time, you will become non-resident if you meet the following criteria:
1. Your time away from the UK and employment covers a complete tax year (6th April to 5 April), and
2. You spend less than 183 days in the UK during the tax year, and
3. Your visits to the UK do not average 91 days or more a tax year over a maximum of 4 years.
If you are a UK non-resident, you will normally only be taxable on your income arising in the UK, such as rent.
If the above applies that you can make a claim for a tax refund by going to:
Please provide your details of your residency situation with your claim.

I am a UK resident working for a UK company. I get paid into my UK bank account and it is taxed.
From March to October this year I have been in Canada and the USA, working for the same company, without returning to the UK.
I have now left the company and will be in the UK for a few weeks before taking a new job in Japan until late December.
Thanks
Can I claim any tax back for the 2010/11 year as the total time spent in the UK will be less than 183 days and I have no property there.
