Rebates usually take between 4-8 weeks with all the required documentation but it really depends on the back log at the tax office that you were registered with.

I took my redundancy in September 2010 and have since moved home. I would like to claim back any tax I am entitled to as I am not, and have not claimed any benefits.Unfortunately I can not find my P45 but do have P60′s from 2005 and payslips for last year from May to September 2010.Will this be sufficient for the tax office to use, and do Ineed a claim form or will a letter suffice?

Anne: If you do not have your P45 or P60, you can write to your employer that you were working for at the time and ask for a statement of earnings on company headed paper which will act as a replacement for a P60/P45. If you need help obtaining this we have a template letter you can use, just Email us on: template@taxfix.co.uk to receive a copy.
