Anonymous: Yes you can claim for previous years. Do you have your P60 or P45 from previous years, these can be used as proof. Alternatively if you do not, you can write to your previous employer asking for a ‘statement of earnings’ on company headed paper which can be used as a replacement for a P45 or P60.

My father worked in the UK for ten years (1966-1976) but has lived back in Ireland since end of 1976, he has now turned 65 and and would like to ascertain if he is entitled to a UK pension – where can he enquire as I did a google search and nothing specific came up >
