Soni

Hi,
I have been living in the UK since 2007 Sept.
I worked part-time while I studied at university for a year and a half.
Since graduating I have been working full-time for about 14 months, my salary being £23,300 for the first year and £27,000 thereafter.
I am planning to return to my country for a while now.
I would like to know how much refund I am eligible for including both tax and NI contributions.
Also would this have any impact on my situation if I ever decided to come back to the UK in the future.

soni: If you have worked in the uk and will soon be leaving, you can apply for a tax rebate. Your company will need to provide you with a P45 after you stop working for them. When you have this you are able to make claim by going here . The total amount of the tax refund would be determined by the amount you have earned as well as the amount you have paid in taxes throughout the tax year, you can use our tax rebate calculator to get an estimation of your refund.
