Can I send the photocopy of documents required? I had this bad experience before that the documents I sent were never returned to me.

Unfortunately when we submit your claim to the Inland Revenue they require the original documents.
You could make a photocopy for your own records. And if the worst did happen and you did loose your originals then you can always get a replacement by asking your former employer for a statement of earnings.
