TaxFix
You may be due a tax rebate for the year that you stopped working, as if you stop working part way through the tax year you often can claim a tax rebate.
Do you have your P45 from when you finished working?
If you do not, you can write to your employer and request a ‘statement of earnings’ on company headed paper, which can be used as a replacement for a P45 or P60.

Ive worked for 40 years and was made redundant last october 2010. Claimed unemployment benefit for 6 months and still cant find a job and Im not entitled to any more benefit. I received a small tax rebate of £230 in April 2010 after paying over £3000 tax that year. As Im living off my savings (over 16,000) can I claim another rebate for year 2010-11. Also, I may soon be starting work part-time, earning only £80 per week, would I be entitled to a rebate from the previous year as I wont earn enough to pay tax?
