If you were on JSA before April 5th you can appply for a tax rebate now, if you were getting JSA after April 5th you will need to wait until next tax year.

To calculate if you are due a tax rebate you need to add all the income you got from any jobs between April 2009 and also add any JSA payments, as this is considered income.

Input your total income and total tax into a tax rebate calculator:

I was made redundant at Christmas and was in receipt of JSA until 28th March 2011 when I started full time work again. Will a tax rebate be done for me automatically or will I have to apply for one when my P45 turns up after my JSA claim is closed?
